Day 3: Setting Up A Library

Last May Bridgeway did a book drive in partnership with Nairobi chapel and shipped a container of books to Kenya. Today we met up with the book at a school in the Mathare area of Nairobi. Together with a group from the local community and Nairobi Chapel we unloaded a truck, carried the boxes of books to the library, sorted the books by reading ability, and started to put the books on the newly built and painted shelves. The library was on the fourth floor, so we got a good workout in. It was good to talk with people as we worked and get to know each other a bit. We accomplished a lot today in a relatively short amount of time. I am looking forward to returning tomorrow to finish the job.
