Kenya Update: Sunday at Nairobi Chapel

Sunday, October 2, 2016                         This morning we were privileged to worship with the amazing people of Nairobi Chapel. David & Nikki joined in leading worship with the chapel band and worship team. I was able to catch most of the worship set before heading over to the youth tent to speak to the middle and high school students. From what I heard the highlight was Nikki singing "It Is Well" during the second service.

I had a great time hanging out with the students and youth church leaders. It was a lot of fun to see how they did student ministries. I enjoyed speaking, but enjoyed the conversations even more. I had a student come up to me after the first service and ask me where in Maryland our church is located. When I told him, Columbia. His eyes lit up and he said he had attended Howard High until this past year when his family moved to Nairobi. What a small world!

After church we spent the afternoon with some of the youth and worship staff from the church at a wonderful dinner. It was an amazing time of fellowship. While we were hanging out, our Kenyan friends gave us each a Kenyan name.
