Today we traveled to Jikaze, an Internally Displaced Persons camp that now has become a permanent village. As we traveled down the mountain to Jikaze we had incredible views of the Rift River Valley and the beautiful mountains on the other side of the valley.
The people living in Jikaze were permanently displaced from their homes by the post election violence that took place in 2007-2008. One way that Nairobi Chapel is helping in Jikaze is through education. The school that is there started in mud huts (pictured), but recently were able to move in to the new school (also pictured).
Nairobi Chapel continues to build the school and impact this community through education.
I was impacted by Purity the headmaster who is filled with grace and runs the school with a gentle spirit.
