Kenya Update: Amazing Youth Leaders

With our friend from Nairobi Chapel
Today was a busy day. We were introduced to Nairobi traffic. It was like nothing I have ever seen before. It gave us a lot of time to enjoy conversation in the car.

Most of our day was spent at the youth conference. It was great to meet and talk with youth workers from all over Africa. It amazed me at how much the life and experience of youth leaders is the same around the world.

In the afternoon I had the privilege of doing some teaching on how Jesus built bridges across cultural barriers. It lead to great conversation about the tribalism that exists in Kenya, and how the youth leaders can equip their students to build relational bridges between the tribes. I heard many great thing from the sessions that Nikki and Frank lead. The youth leaders have an amazing heart for the young people of their country and a genuine desire for unity that can only come through Christ.

In the evening we got to have dinner with our friends from the Nairobi Chapel. David and Nikki met with the worship leader and I met with the youth ministry team. We spent much of the time learning about each others world and discuss student leadership. I am learning so much from them.

God's hand was evident through out our day, from the people that we met to the way he showed up at the youth conference. I am looking forward to more of the same tomorrow.
