Trading Gods

I read this passage earlier in the week. I am still asking myself some application questions.

Romans 1:21-2321  For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

Here are my questions:

  • Are there times that even though I know God, I treat Him as less than God?
    • In what ways do I treat Him as less than?
    • When do I treat God as less than?
    • Why do I treat God as less than?
  • Are there times that I trade God's glory for the glory of earthly thing?
    • What causes me to do this?
    • What earthly things to I trade God's glory for?
The answer to the big questions is of course "yes". The answer to sub-questions I have found to be a challenge. Still digging...
